12.07.09: Kvitsoey Panorama. A panorama test image. I am planning to make some large panoramas in the future...

09.07.09: in June I  did a job for owners of the stone quarry at Sloevaag in Gulen, via Impact Design & Marketing. This included shooting photos from helicopter.

09.07.09: image of towing operation of Hywind-windmill in Rogaland was in june sold to StatoilHydro. In june two images where sold for reuse to Kartagena AS for use in their sea chart selection.

27.01.09: NEW GALLERY! for a long time I have planned to make a new gallery, incorporating all the photos in the old gallery, but I see that this is a to big job at the moment. I will instead, within a few days present a gallery page with both the old and the new gallery.

Images in the new gallery will contain EXIF and IPTC-data. This will i.e. include image title, description and keywords.

The best images in the old gallery will be included in the new gallery as soon as possible

23.12.08: so far are eight framed photo's sold, directly or indirectly,  during the exhibition period. The exhibition have made some nice publicity in the local newspapers as well.
So far I am very pleased!

14.12.08: after thinking for which camera to buy for a few weeks, I made the decision to buy Canon EOS 50D and not the 5D mkII. The reason for this choice is my  use compared to the cost. For photographing birds I think that 50D is at least as good a choice as 5DmkII, because of the crop factor and higher shooting rate. This in addition the fact that 50D probably will produce the quality I need for my landscapes the decision was not too difficult too make. To the right a photo made by Canon  EOS 50D.

02.09.2008:  the last couple of months I have been using a Canon EOS 450D because my 40D is broken. The 450D with 17-85mm IS lens will be sold as soon as I get my new camera. It will be the new 50D or the the follow-up camera from 5D - 7D? Time will show...

17.11.2007: have just finished a job for AGR Mongstad. 19 of my images from the local area have been used for decorating their new offices.

17.10.2007: maybe you already have noticed that there is a new item in the menu above,  PRINTS. Here you can by limited edition prints. The final solution is not yet clear, but the page is functional and you can shop by shopping cart and automated e-mail. Try it!  Later I will add paypal functionality.
The original idea was to make a brand new site dedicated only for selling prints, but now I am not sure if it will be a own separate site, a sub domain to www.fjordimages.com ( i.e. fineart.fjordimages.com ) or only a direct link to a single page, plus the print gallery!? For now I keep my options open....suggestions and opinions are welcome!

16.09.2007: have bought a new camera. Canon EOS 40D with ef-s 17-85mm IS. This camera has 10,1 mp and less noise than my old camera, Canon EOS 20D. It is likely that the 40D will be replaced by a full format camera, i.e. the EOS 5D successor, if/when it comes...

15.09.2007: one week....yeah!?., but now its very close to be operational. Sometime next week the new sub-site for buying prints will be found as link from this site.

16.08.2007: the new site has been delayed about one week. Please come back in the end of next week.

10.08.2007:  During the summer I have invested in some new equipment. Before the trip to northwestern Norway I bought a new wide angle zoom lens, Canon efs 10-22 mm. This is somewhat sharper, not much, than the efs 18-35 mm. The big difference is distortion, that is almost non-existent in the efs10-22 mm.

I have also bought two new 19" LCD monitors, NEC Multisync 1990SXi, for easier and better image editing.
Latest addition is a new photo printer. Epson Stylus Pro 3800, capable of producing professional  quality prints up to A2+ (43x62cm) size.

10.08.2007: in about one weeks time I will finish the new web site for selling prints. The site will display about 40-50 of my best images. It will include shopping cart (e-mail and Paypal),  guestbook, slideshow and a search function based on iptc/exif data. Please check back in the end of next week..."opening" discount will apply!

This site, www.fjordimages.com, will get a new look within a couple of months. The original plan was to do this before the summer, but I have more new images in my files than I thought! This update will include new design of gallery, including shopping cart and iptc/exif data. It is possible that I will upload the whole gallery to my server. Customers will then be able to download images instantly after payment via Paypal.

23.06.2007: I have just completed a trip to northern part of the west coast of Norway. I got lot of  images and the weather was perfect the whole trip! I will add images within a few days. Image of the month, June, is from this trip.

26.05.2007: it has been litle time for photography lately due to a major update on the photo gallery and a very busy personal schedule. When the improved gallery is launched in about three to four weeks I hope I can spend the remaining summer to get some stunning images from both the northern and southern part of Norway.

14.01.06: a few weeks ago I bought different equipment for cleaning the sensor in my Canon EOS 20D. After one year use without cleaning, it looked really bad. I will come back with a small story about this procedure, including before and after pictures.

13.01.06: unfortunately I have not updated as often as I could wish lately because I don't have a internet connection at home. I hope to have this in place within one month. This will make it possible for me to update more frequent.

13.01.06: During the autumn I have completed a couple of photo assignments.

07.04.05: picture of the month: April 2005

01.02.05: not much has changed on these pages the last month. This will most likely be the case until April as well. I am in the last stage of finishing our new house and this requires a substantial effort from my side. This don't mean that I have tucked away my camera, far from it, but I do not have the time to edit photos and update my web site as often as I would like. Please check back soon anyway. Maybe a small window of spare time opens?

I have decided to join the new Norwegian stock library Camedia-Digital. Their web site is expected to be operational in  June 2005.

05.11.04: 19 new images added to the gallery.

31.10.04: I have finally bought a digital SLR. A Canon 20D (8,2 MP) arrived Friday 29.10 and I have only briefly tested it, but I think that my film stock is for sale! In addition to the camera I have invested in 2 x 1GB high speed CF cards, a Canon 550 EX flash (with off-shoe cord),  timer remote control (TC-80N3), a 60 GB photo storage from Mediagear,  a new Slik 700DX tripod and various other small accessories.

For snap and shoot I have bought a new digital compact camera, a Sony DCSP-150, 7,2 MP.

23.09.04: new images and categories added to the gallery. Among new categories are latest pictures. Meaning pictures added in the last two months. This will help those of you that visit my site from time to time to find new images without going through the whole gallery.

03.09.04: finally I have finished with my training to become a maritime pilot. Yesterday I got my diploma and life is going back to a more normal situation. During the last few months my web page has not been updated. This will now change. Please check back from time to time. Interesting images and changes will come soon.

28.03.04: a lot of new images have been added in several new categories. Have temporarily removed Slideshow and Panorama gallery. Many new images will be added in the next few weeks.

15.02.04: pages have been given a new design. For the moment they are somewhat slow to display, but this will be improved. Gallery is for the moment to be considered as a test version only. My best images are not included yet. I will try to add new images regularly, at least on a monthly basis.

15.01.04: I have received my new film scanner, a Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400. It is used for converting my 35 mm slides into digital files. This scanner produces professional results from 35 mm film. It deliver images with a maximum 5400 ppi resolution, 16 bit colour input and produces file sizes up to 250 mb. If you have negatives or slides that you want to be scanned or/and restored I will gladly do this job for you. Please send an e-mail with your request and I'll give you a good price.

I plan to do some major changes on these pages during the winter. I will create a gallery with only  the absolute best pictures I produce. All other images worth displaying will be found in a searchable gallery. As I plan to by a new film scanner I will only add a few more images to the gallery before this arrive, sometime during the winter. 

27.11.03: 22 new images have been added to the gallery. A few other images have been improved by adjustments in the digital darkroom.

25.11.03: Austrheim kommune has bought images with motives from Austrheim kommune. Pictures will be used for various purposes. The first thing they used the pictures for, was a CD cover. The CD contains music from Austrheim Music School and Rock Factory. All images delivered by Fjord Images.

03.09.03: I have added a new  Nordland summer 2003 category to the main gallery. This gallery contains 12 images from Rost and Hammaroy. A lighthouse category has been added as well. This gallery contains 9 images, some of these images can be found under other categories. Several new images added to Kvitsoy category. A few images added to other categories. Guest book has been temporarily removed.
